16" x 24" in (40 x 60 cm)
This arresting piece of art captivates through its poignant symbolism and striking composition. Dominating the canvas is a vividly rendered, crimson heart-shaped balloon that exudes both vulnerability and resilience. The heart, a universal symbol for love and life, is starkly juxtaposed with the modern, clinical addition of a blue surgical mask.
This juxtaposition immediately evokes themes of safety, health, and global awareness, likely referencing the contemporary era of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The background of the artwork is intentionally blurred and muted, featuring an urban, graffiti-like wall, which adds layers of depth and grit to the overall composition.
The faded and smeared textures in shades of gray and dark tones contrast sharply with the vibrant red of the heart balloon, effectively drawing the viewer’s eye to the central subject. Subtle streaks of red scattered throughout the background echo the balloon’s color, creating a cohesive yet strategically discordant visual experience.
Precision in detail is evident in the creases and reflections on the balloon's surface, giving it a realistic, three-dimensional quality.
The surgical mask is meticulously depicted, with folds and elastic bands positioned perfectly, showcasing the artist’s skill in rendering complex textures and forms.
This artwork is not merely a still-life painting but a profound commentary on love and human connection amidst crisis. It encapsulates a moment in history where the collective consciousness is overwhelmed by the necessity of protection and the enduring spirit that remains unsilenced despite constraints.
The piece is assertive in its message, blending realism with symbolism to evoke a powerful emotional response.

About Onemizer
Onemizer was born in 1987 in the South of France. He spent part of his childhood in Africa where he made his first encounters with art and discovered watercolor.
Back in France as a teenager, he got to know Parisian graffiti during his walks around Paris with his parents.
The edges of the highways as well as the Parisian subways are real museums for him. This real love at first sight pushed him to survey vacant lots, as well as railways and abandoned warehouses, in order to paint on walls and improve his skills out of sight. After high school, he decides to undertake art studies by integrating a design school, but prefers to continue his journey on his own.
Little by little, he goes from the wall to the canvas, and it is pushed by his entourage, that he begins to show his work and exhibit his paintings according to his meetings in luxury hotels, restaurants, bars ...
He then organized his first exhibitions in the surroundings of Bordeaux as well as in the Paris region.
Much has been done since his beginnings in the streets, and he now exhibits in many international art galleries (Paris, Courchevel, Megève, Cannes, Singapore, London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Miami, Tokyo…).
Onemizer took part with a hundred other international artists in the world record for the largest graffiti on canvas which took place in Dubai in November 2014 and which was validated to appear in the Guinness book.
